WELCOME TO THE AUDIENCE OF ONE

Hello and welcome to the Audience of one. Right now the blog is under some construction but expect it to be back up in full later this week. This week here, I decided to put up a video of one of my new favorite bands... Skillet. The thing I love about this video is how it's just them doing everyday stuff! This makes them so awesome. This one here is one of my personal favorites.

My Life (For Sean)

Well what can I say? I live a pretty average life, but I guess what might be average to some may be extraordinary to others. Well first off, I live in Canada and despite what some people might think, it's not always snowing here. We have a climate similar to New York city, so base your opinion on that.

I live in a rather small city, full of good people who aren't afraid to say hi in the streets. Even if you don't know them. People hold doors open for others and will help people that might be in need of assistance.

In my time here, I've met all sorts of different types of people and one of the coolest things about this place is the fact that there's not a lot of bullying or murders or anything really that would get people all worked up. Most druggies around here don't seem to be doing anything too illegal either, more or less just weed (I don't drink or do drugs) so at least they're safe, and most of them are even friendly.

In the summer I just kinda chill out. Play a lot of games go for drives out to Parlee Beach and listen to Disturbed with my friends. I also go for walks too both in the morning and at nights where normally Josh and I will talk about End of Eternity or some new game we've been playing. Summer's normally quite chill but warm too (-.-).

Winter's almost the same, however walks are a lot less frequent and I have to shovel the driveway every now and then. Here school only gets canceled if there's 25+ centimeters of snow, so we don't get a day off for a little puddle in the street that might or might not freeze over. Work is pretty basic too. There's all sorts of jobs for all sorts of people ranging from sales associate to Social Worker, etc and etc. So many I couldn't even begin to list.

There's also a large variety of cultures and people that live here too, and practically no racism, but anyways the question was more about my life. Not society. So really, what is there to say. Well things have definitely changed in my life over the three years. Originally I was this small time pathetic nerd with no ambitions who appeared to be scared of EVERYTHING! Especially girls, but eventually I met this girl named Ashley and things changed. I dated Ashley for almost two and a half years until we broke up and I started dating Kate O'Brien (God, that name will forever we written in my soul) A lot of stuff happened between me and Kate, we dated for almost a year and then she left me, but it wasn't like a normal break up, no. It was much worse. Much much worse. After that I dated a couple other girls and then I started my Youtube page. Gaming was something I always loved. Always. It was just the best thing in the world to me, so after watching PeteDorr, HappyConsoleGamer and Angry Video Game Nerd, I decided to start making my own videos. Not long after that I started dating my child-hood friend Katie B. We dated for almost two months, but realized there are somethings that can just never be. After that I met up with my current girlfriend Stephanie. I'm proud to say we've been going out for almost 5 months now and to tell you the truth. I think she's my soul-mate.

The biggest part of my life though, has to be all the times I spent with one of my best-est friends SHAWN DOREY. I can't think of anything the two of us didn't go through together. He helped out when I lost the first love of my life, when I almost failed English for the third time, and even when I was going through things that just weren't important. He was always there. If it wasn't for him, I'm not too sure I'd be here right now.

Now at days, Shawn's
(Above - in pink) up in college studying, and I'm down here in Moncton. However, even considering all that's happened to us in the past, I still consider him to be one of the best friends I ever had, and I really hope to see him soon.

My life on an average day consists of working between my two jobs (EB Games and Superstore Electronics Department), playing games, talking to Steph and Youtube. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Evony online which is pretty cool and I've been writting this blog as much as possible. Still though little things get to me, but whatever. It'll all heal in time, but at this point I have to thank all my wonderfull friends (Steph, Becky, Josh, Mindfreak, Braveworld, Seek, Corey, Martin, Ryan, Bryan, Brian and all the others), my parents (Dad and Pam) for letting me live here while I save up some money and most of all my fans for caring enough to watch my videos and comment and everything you guys have done for me. Thanks a bunch guys, it means a lot.

So there you have it. My life. Here's some other random facts:

-I'm going to be 20 in February
-I have my own car
-I go to my grandmother's to eat like 3 times a week
-I love metal, rock, punk, rap and Techno (for the most part)

So there you have it. Everything I can think of. Hope you enjoyed and please leave a comment. Tell me bout your life. Thanks and have a great day.

End of Eternity: The World That Never Was

Please excuse any grammatical errors, I was stressed for time.

For the last five years Joshua Alexander, a close friend of mine, and myself have been working on a game idea called End of Eternity. We find it's kind of a cross breed between Final Fantasy, Fallout 3/Oblivion, Jak 2 and Zelda. Now, we've been keeping most of it under-wraps for clear reasons but trust me we've been working hard on all the paper work, tweaking every last thing to make sure it's perfect.

Now during this process Josh and I have started to think about the future. We've asked ourselves questions like "What if this does sell just as good as Final Fantasy?" or "How to we appeal to multiple audiences?". Well both questions are extremely hard to answer, we came up with a couple ideas. First off, if it sold good we'd obviously plan to make a sequel. However, much like Final Fantasy the second one would have little to nothing to do with the first. After making this decision Josh and I decided to take a little break from the drawing board of EOE1 and start on something new... End of Eternity II. Now within our group of close friends, End of Eternity is looked upon as one of the greatest stories of all time, and we take everyone's feed back to heart on it. So then we started thinking. "How do we bring our amazing stories to a wider audience?" and then BANG! it hit! A novel.

Writing a novel was something I always wanted to do, so instantly I took to this idea. After about two months worth of researching (and 2 years of failed storyline ideas) and coming up with new characters and stories Josh and I finally hit the storyline we wanted to share and with this I started writing. Our goal: To bring End of Eternity to a wider audience and share this new amazing story with all sorts of people. The only reason we decided to go with EOE2 as a novelization instead of EOE1 was because we wanted to wait until we had the resources needed to create a full-fledge next gen RPG, with stunning graphics capable of pulling off Advent Children style fighting scenes. We wanted you to experience End of Eternity 1 (The Action End of Eternity as we call it) The way we envisioned it. End of Eternity II focuses more on storytelling rather than just PURE action (Don't get us wrong, there's plenty of action) to get the audience's attention.

So after all these decisions and re-writing over a hundred ideas worth of scripts we finally decided the perfect story to novelize. This is End of Eternity II. However, rather than call it EOE2 and have it release before EOE1, we decided to call the novelization of EOE2 - End of Eternity: The World That Never Was. Both Josh and I hope that when we release the first few episodes (chapters by novelization standards) online in the new year every single one of you will check it out. Until then both Josh and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and expect to see End of Eternity: The World That Never Was Digital Novelization (Episodes 1 - 7) by the first quarter of 2010. Free for your reading pleasure. Thank you

Thumbs Up of the Week: Geoff Keighley

Thumbs up of the week #2

This week, my thumbs up goes to Geoff Keighley (in the photo to the right) from Gametrailers.com for his outstanding defense on Mass Effect while in an interview with Fox News. Geoff has been with Gametrailers for several years now and has been featured in many sequences such as "The Bonus Round". He can also be seen on G4 Tech TV and Spike TV as a host to many different gaming programs.

Now I know technically this story is old, but I don't care I want to talk about it anyway (plus, back then I didn't have this blog). A while back Geoff Keighley was brought onto Fox news as guest for being a video game expert. He was appearing on an episode that would debate the over-outraged sex scene in Bioware's Mass Effect game for the Xbox 360. Also appearing on the show was Cooper Lawrence, a novelist, psychologist and specialist who had extremely different opinions than Geoff about Mass Effect's rating and right to be on the shelves. On the show she insisted that "the data and research proved that boys who played games like Mass Effect would thus treat woman like objects and so..." she continued to rant, completely ignoring anything Geoff said. Now while every single statement Geoff made was completely valid, Cooper continued to show ignorance to the piece of art that is Mass Effect. However, Geoff wouldn't simply let her bash the game. Instead he stood up for Mass Effect and totally bitched her out right on Fox News, and that's why Geoff gets my Thumbs Up of the Week!

For those of you who have not seen the episode you can watch it here:

Make sure to tell me what you think about the whole situation. Whose side are you on and why? Oh and if you see Geoff. Tell him Locke says "Good f**kin job!" - Locke Downe

Star Trek (2009) Review

STAR TREK (2009)
anything in italics is SPOILERS

Oh my God! This year has been plenty-full when it comes to big name releases. We've been blessed with many all star movies like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, X-men Origins: Wolverine, G.I Joe and more recently Star Trek.

Now I've never been a big fan of the Star Trek television series, but oh my God! This is hands down the best movie I've seen this year. All the actors played their parts so perfectly (As perfectly as possible when you consider elements of the story) and with such passion that it was hard to ignore their attention to authenticity. The story was phenomenally done, placing it in the Star Trek timeline both before AND after the original series. The graphics were breath-taking and the sound was realistic and amazingly done.

First off, the story was definitely one the high points in the movie. Trying to leave out as many spoilers as possible here, I just have to say one minute you think you know something and the next you're completely surprised by a different outcome. This however will be more apparent for Trek fans. However for those of you who never watched Star Trek before in your life you'll be pleased to know the story is very inviting to new viewers under the circumstances that it trys to please both noobs and hard-core fans alike. Noting this, it does an AMAZING job.

The graphics are breath-taking the whole way through and never feel out of place, confusing or over done (with the exception of one alien creature encounter - the one before Lenard Nemoy's appearance.) but either way it's more than believable.

At some points I found myself literally stopping and thinking to myself. "This is better than Star Wars." and I have to say after watching the whole movie. I think that that personal opinion still stands. Even though I've always favored Star Wars over Star Trek, I believe this movie changed my mind.

Overall everything in this movie played together well and I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone out to see this year's biggest blockbuster. If you haven't seen this movie, go out and see it NOW! Trek fan or not!

Graphics - 9.5
Story - 9.8
Entertainment - 9.5
Sound - 9.8

Overall - 9.7 out of 10

Tell me, what did you think of the Star Trek movie? Leave your opinions in the comments. (If you're not signed in, please leave your name if you wish for feedback.)

Comments Wanted!

One thing I was very happy to find out was that even before announcing it on Youtube, some people had already heard of my blog. At least a week before announcing it on my Youtube channel, I managed to announce it on Twitter and Facebook but it seems like already I have a small following even if the number of people reading this blog isn't the same as my number of followers (I understand... Not EVERYONE has a Google account so I don't expect many followers. lol ) but none the less people are reading them and I'm really thankful for that.

However, not a lot of people have been commenting and I think that might be because people aren't aware that they CAN comment. (lol. That's okay, I didn't see the button below either.) I changed the settings on my blogger account so that ANYONE, whether you have a google account or not, CAN comment on my blogs. There should be a little comment button on the bottom right corner of every blog post so please feel free to comment! I love hearing what you guys have to say! Just make sure to let me know who you are if you want me to give you some feedback on your comments, because if you're no signed into google, I'm pretty sure it'll just leave your name as Anonymous. So to start this tradition off I figured I'd leave you all a question to comment on...

What is it you guys are hoping to see under the tree this christmas? What gift do you want most? Tell me in the comments! Thank you.

New Haircut

So I got a new haircut today and I love it. I went to the same place I always go and went to the same stylist I always go to, but we decided to try something different. I love it. It's kinda like Emo meets proper. Hard to describe. Oh well, I think I'm actually going to try and maintain this. Provided it doesn't give me head-aches. Anyways, after I got my haircut I played Lilith for hours. Here's a pic below.

I play guitar almost 3 times a day for about 2 hours each time, but I still feel like I'm not getting any better. I hope soon I will but unfortunately videos, games, Youtube, drawing and stories all get in the way. Maybe it's time I drop something. What do you think?

One Day at a Time

So luckily my friends and I have been fortunate enough to not have a lot of drama in our lives lately. Which has given me a lot of time to think, write and play games. Things a while back went south with a bunch of people I still call good friends. Everyone was either mad at me or someone else and drama was everywhere, but ever since school's finished the number of intense over-reaction has dropped by a boat-load and even though there's still a few loose ends to tie up, things are going pretty good!

I just got a new idea for a video (A funny video) a couple days ago and I might post it soon. Thanks to the help of Becky and Stephanie Saunders I also managed to get in some really good random footage that I might compile into some sort of video (either for my page of a new page or something).

Either way I feel like we're accomplishing things one day at a time and that's at least a start, but as soon as the new years hits, I have to start making Goals, fixing broken friendships and working harder to do everything I swore I would do. Thank you all for reading and please stick around, there will be at least one post a day- EVERYDAY!

Thumbs Up of the Week: Infinity Ward

Thumbs up of the week #1

My first thumbs up of the week ever; goes to the guys at Infinity Ward for having the balls to create one of the most controversial levels in gaming history. "No Russian", a playable mission in Infinity Ward's latest: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was instantly one of the most talked about missions in gaming history. It was so graphic and traumatizing that even before the game began they asked players if they wanted to skip it! However, if you chose 'No it won't offend me' at the start up screen you were taken to a Russian airport where you and three other men were forced to shoot down a whole lobby full of civilians. That's right. Not army men or radioactive zombies. Random everyday civilians (As seen in the image below).

Now if you're anything like me, you've probably stopped to think "Hey!? How is this any different than just playing Grand Theft Auto IV and mowing down peds with any form of destruction you choose?" Well if you ask me, it isn't really- but then again Grand Theft Auto was a controversial game. Either way, Infinity ward put it out there in one of the most enjoyable and graphic ways possible and I personally, couldn't be happier. That's why Infinity Ward gets my Thumbs up of the week!!!

Check out "No Russian" For yourself:
No Russian Youtube Video

Tell me, what did you think of "No Russian"? Was it too much for you, or would you like to see more missions like this in MW3?... or maybe DLC?

Locke Downe's First Blog

Today I got sent a link from a hardcore fan and good friend of mine Beeverena. The link sent me to a page I had never seen before and a website I had only heard of: Blogger. After reading some of his posts and seeing how people responded to his messages I decided a couple things.

1. I have opinions I want people to hear.

2. I want my fans to be able to keep better track of me in a way that's a lot more formatted than Twitter.

3. I need to have my own Blog.

After this revelation, I decided to sign up and now here I am, writing my first blog. Many of you might already know me from my Youtube page:

www.youtube.com/L0CKED0WNE

...and if you don't I hope that maybe you'll check it out. As for now, there's a couple things I have planned for this blog. One is gaming reviews. Full written reviews. Others are things like updates, Random things I have to say about anything, and all sorts of different views and opinions I may have. So I hope that you'll subscribe to either my Blogger or my Youtube page and keep on checking back as often as possible for all the news. Thank you everyone.
